- Frame witness Head and Shoulders
- court reporter ready?
- attorneys ready? 
- say “Please wait for my announcement”
- start recorders 
- check to make sure they are "recording"
- read script 
- frame witness for oath 
- re-frame after oath

during

- zoom out to see any documents witness is viewing
- watch and listen for any problems
- in event of technical problem ask to go off record 
- record objections and exhibits w/time if required
- announce time for any on and off record 

going off the record

- say ”Going off the record at <time>”
- lower master level on mixer immediately
- pause recordings and/or change media 

going back on record

- start recorders 
- check to make sure they are "recording" 
- say “Back on the record at <time>

after
 
- get copy orders
- finalize discs
- pack equipment
